HSI (ASHI) CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are nationally accredited training programs that meet or exceed national CPR and ECC guidelines. Their certifications are widely accepted by employers, schools, childcare programs, and community organizations across the U.S.

Because each employer or licensing agency can set its own acceptance policies, we encourage students to check their specific requirements if their job or school mandates a specific training provider such as AHA or Red Cross.

HSI/ASHI, American Heart Association (AHA), and American Red Cross all teach CPR and First Aid based on the same national science — the ILCOR / AHA CPR and ECC guidelines.

That means the CPR techniques, AED steps, compression rates, and emergency skills are the same across all three programs.

HSI/ASHI is a nationally accredited training organization, and its certifications are accepted by most workplaces, schools, and community programs.

The main differences are:

  • AHA is the preferred brand in many healthcare settings (especially hospitals) for BLS.
  • Red Cross is extremely well-known for community CPR.
  • HSI/ASHI is widely accepted for workplace, corporate, childcare, community, and non-hospital professional training.

All three are high-quality and legitimate training programs — the only thing that changes is employer preference.
